three simultaneous head shots

Monday, November 21st, 2005

the telegraph has posted a story about british snipers in iraq taking out three suicide bombers with three simultaneous head shots as they were leaving a house being used as a base for insurgents.

The soldiers had been told that the house was a being used as a base by insurgents – and up to three suicide bombers were expected to leave it later that morning.

Dressed in explosive vests, they were fully equipped to hit a number of locations around the city. The bombers’ targets were thought to be cafes and restaurants frequented by members of the Iraqi security forces.

The intelligence was regarded as “high grade” and came from an Iraqi agent who had been nurtured by members of the British Secret Intelligence Service, also known as MI6, for several months.

i’m trying to arrange a few little hymns for guitar, and thought i might tab a tiny little piece of one out here for anyone that’s interested. the song is how how great thou art and this is only the second half of the chorus. you can probably figure the rest of it out from this much, but anyway… here it is:

the problem of dating in christian circles is an interesting one to be sure. this has become evident to me through a number of personal experiences, and due to the personal nature of those experiences, i struggle with maintaining a polite attitude on the subject. i will openly admit that i find the entire situation to be increasingly frustrating, and i hope that i can somehow shed some light or provide some insight on the subject without offending anyone too badly.

SIU = racist?

Friday, November 11th, 2005

According to an article posted over at FindLaw, the justice department could end up filing a lawsuit against southern illinois university for racial discrimination… against white kids! :shock: from the article:

Federal prosecutors are threatening to sue Southern Illinois University over three small graduate school scholarship programs aimed at women and minorities, saying they were discriminatory.

SIU “has engaged in a pattern or practice of intentional discrimination against whites, non-preferred minorities and males,” the Justice Department said in a letter. A copy of the letter was obtained by the Chicago Sun-Times.

The graduate scholarships, or fellowships, violate Title VII of the federal Civil Rights Act of 1964, the department said. The letter demands SIU discontinue the fellowship programs or its civil rights division will sue the university by Nov. 18.

could it be true that america is coming to her senses and realizing that racism and racial discrimination don’t necessarily originate from people with white skin? or that racism can even be directed toward white people? perhaps the end of this time where the weak minded cry ‘racism’ in the absence of a sensible argument could be drawing near. one can only hope.
