AP is running a story with the headline “Hamas leader: Won’t be ‘blackmailed’ into submission” or something and the body of the story goes something like this:

JERUSALEM (AP) - A top Hamas leader says his organization won’t be “blackmailed” by international threats to cut off aid to the Palestinians.

He says the group is searching for alternative sources of funding.

Osama Hamdan also says Hamas will not accept conditions from the West that Hamas renounce violence. At the same time, he says Hamas is ready for dialogue.

Hamdan is a member of the group’s exiled leadership. He made the remarks in a telephone interview from Lebanon.

Yesterday, “road map” peace plan sponsors said aid could be in jeopardy unless Hamas renounces violence, recognizes Israel and accepts existing agreements Israel has with the Palestinians.

the story is accompanied by the picture you see here. what’s funny is that that gun says “cate pistol” on the side of it. cate pistol are airsoft guns, and you might also notice the little holes for the screws that hold it together, which real guns don’t have. what’s even better is that they’re not even good airsoft guns, they’re the $2 bargain bin specials. please don’t hurt me mr. hamas, i’m not armed, i swear…

some of you might have seen or heard about the driver’s licensing scandal here in tennessee. it’s being called operation crooked highway by the local news media. apparently, in may of 2004 tennessee passed a law allowing undocumented immigrants to get driving certificates, which would explain the high concentration of illegals here.

as much of an issue as that is, that’s not the crux of this discussion. you see, apparently what’s been happening is that 2 state officials and the winchester driving school have been accepting bribes to issue certificates to people who shouldn’t have them… to the tune of about 1,000 certificates. they were ousted by the fact that the illegals who came in to get the driving certificates couldn’t even communicate with their examiners. not even so much as reading the letters off of an eye chart.

this really makes me proud of my state government, especially when you look back over the recent history. speaking specifically of the safety department, the seattle p.i. said, “The department has been at the center of a series of scandals, including the hiring of Highway Patrol officers with criminal backgrounds, ticket-fixing and an atmosphere of political favoritism.” yep, that sounds about right.

Little background…a buddy of mine, his girlfriend is a complete gold digger. She’ll only date someone that has a ton of money. You know the type. Anyway, her ex-boyfriend is RICH, very RICH, and he’s always trying to see her when he comes into town, which is very annoying to my buddy. I guess when his g/f and her ex were still seeing each other, he had given her a pair of ungodly expensive earrings. When they broke up, she kept them for whatever reason, but she never wears them. So she had these diamonds sitting in her jewelry box.

So me and my buddy had gone to the mall yesterday, I had to get some things done, so we went and got what I needed,when he told me he needed to the jewelry store to get his g/f some earrings. We get to the jeweler and he whips out said earrings, tells the jeweler that his daughter just turned 16 and he had gotten her these earrings for her sweet 16, but she was very irresponsible, and he wanted the real diamonds to be replaced with a cubic zirconia and to put the real diamonds on a new set of earrings. I’m no diamond expert, guy at the jewler told us they were worth at least $9k a piece.

So this guy takes his newly aqquired CZ earrings and puts them back in his girls jewelry box.

Fast forward to today…..He Gives her the real diamonds when he went there this morning. She of course goes nuts, and says they look better than the ones her ex-boyfriend gave her, to which he replied, “that’s because these are real, those diamonds he gave you are actually CZ’s I can spot fakes a mile away”. She got very defensive at that point and eventually went to a local jewler (not the same one as the swap), and found out that they were indeed CZ’s. She calls ex, tells him she never want’s to talk to him again, and hangs up on him.

Somehow, my buddy managed to single handedly get rid of the ex, and become a hero. Killing two birds with one stone. You be the judge……scumbag, or genius?

Liberals and criminals alike are anxiously awaiting the verdict on Illinois’ newest gun ban, HB 2414. Honestly, it’s hard to tell who’s more excited.

I guess liberals figure if they can’t keep Americans from buying guns, they’ll try putting people in prison for owning them.

Meanwhile, thousands of law-abiding citizens in Illinois are forced to imagine being incarcerated for legally purchasing and owning a gun.

That’s the idea behind The People’s Republic of Illinois House Bill 2414, in which gun owners would have 90 days to surrender their legally purchased semi-automatic firearms to the police, or face felony prosecution and stiff jail sentences.

Illinois State Rifle Association Executive Director Richard Pearson called the bill a “public policy nightmare.”

Apparently, Pearson still thinks the Second Amendment to the Constitution (for you liberals, that’s the one that says Congress can’t make laws infringing on your right to keep and bear arms) actually means that Congress can’t make a law infringing on your right to keep and bear arms.

You’ll have to forgive conservatives, who haven’t grasped the concept of a living, breathing Constitution, where “keep and bear arms” actually means “sodomy and abortion on demand.”
